I'm still sorting through the pictures from last Sunday. Is this in fact pimpernel? It was growing in between rocks on a baking hot stretch of sea shore that seemed completely inhospitable. (Sachuest Point NWR, Middletown RI)

I think we saw some on Cape Ann, three weeks ago, too; perhaps I was again due to identify something terribly common for the first time, then see it everywhere I look.

I later found a single specimen of blue eyed grass; the mosquitos were biting in the woods, so I didn't linger, and I don't remember whether the stems were jointed, which would give me a hint as to which of several species it was. (Norman Bird Sanctuary, Middletown, RI)

The synchronicity with Tony finding the same plant amuses me; I didn't know what I had until looking it up, either.
